After 13 hours of deliberation Friday, the jurors found Simpson guilty on 12 charges of armed robbery and kidnapping in connection with the 2007 attempted heist of memorabilia he said had been stolen from him. The verdict came 13 years to the day after his acquittal in Los Angeles.I'm so happy. He could very well be spending the rest of his life in the pokey. You know who else is happy? Fred Goldman.
"We're absolutely thrilled to see that the potential is that he could spend the rest of his life in jail, where the scumbag belongs," Goldman said Saturday. "Right now, there is not much more to say other than we're going to wait to find out what else happens."I don't think the Goldmans ever really expected they'd see any of that $33.5 million civil judgment, but I don't think they really care.
So where were you when they announced the verdict back in '95? Snark was probably on his honeymoon. I was working for Illinois State University at the time and I watched the verdict while I was home for lunch.
I was beyond disgusted. But also a little relieved. I half-expected a riot on campus if he was convicted. Things coulda got really ugly in a big hurry in this country.
And to this day, 13 years later, I still know at least two people who think O.J. is innocent of slaughtering Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown.
Two bad we didn't have the faith in DNA evidence that we have now. But anyway, asshole's going to jail. Sentencing is December 5.

My advice? On the first day in prison, kick somebody's ass or become somebody's bitch.
I'm sure he'll have love among the sporty guys and the morons that still believe he didn't turn his ex-wife into a Pez head.
But there'll be plenty of guys in there who know he got away with murder because he's rich and famous. That he got opportunities they didn't have.

Right you are MV. The mrs and I were indeed on our honeymoon. We were in California in fact. We were driving from SF up into the wine country and we'd just crossed the Golden Gate Bridge. We got to the toll plaza and this old guy took our money and said, "Did ya hear, they just let OJ walk!" We couldn't believe it. When I heard he was convicted this time I said to the wife, "Ha, 13 years to the day OJ is finally going away! Karma, it's a bitch baby!"
And the Cowboys had their hands full with the Bengals didn't they?

Got my firewood for the winter delivered yesterday. Best part of the start of the cold weather is getting to light up the fireplace.
Thursday is snarkette #1's 9th bday. So we had a party on Saturday. Classmates and other friends. Two of her best friends from when she went to the French school slept over. One of them got her a little 1gig non-ipod mp3 player. She was just overjoyed. Of course, daddy also got her one. An ipod nano, in pink, just like she wanted! And damnit, now mrs. snark wants me to return mine and let her keep the one from her friend because it meant so much to her to give it to her! Fucking shit. It's my little girl. I'm steamed.
Happy Birthday, Snarkette! I say hang on to the nano. She'll fill that 1 gig non-ipod in no time, find problems with it, and be only too happy to switch to the nano.
Then she can start filling it with N.W.A. and Public Enemy.
