You people got me hooked on reading and commenting at TLC; what other blogs are you frequenting? And not just the Lefty ones. What else are you reading?
I bounce between Atrios, Sadly No, Whiskey Fire, Go Fug Yourself, Shakesville, Zen Cabin, Echidne, Sideshow, Steve Clemons, Lance Mannion, Bag News, Dependable Renegade et al. For news, I go to Guardian UK, Xinhua, Tehran Daily News, Gulf News, IHT, and sometimes Yahoo News to see how the US "journos" are lying about today's stories. I check the IAEA every once in a while, too, to see what's really going on, especially when the "Oh noes! An Iran attack is gonna happen this afternoon!"
I used to live on AICN, but most of those movie sites have so much advertising and pop ups, I just can't stick around. I get Entertainment Weekly at home - $10 for a year, can't beat that! - which is where I get most of my movie news. And my daughter points out cool stuff, too. She's the one that gave me the Joker video.
I've invited our cousin to join us here, I feel he has a lot to say, MV. The one that works for Careen Gordon's office/campaign. Worked in here for a while. Had a dog named Grace because his mom (our Aunt Nancy) loves the former Cub first baseman, Mark Grace. I'm not sure if he's gonna use his real name or not. Sharp dude, politics, movies, music, tube, etc. Left wing commie tree-huggin' queer-lover like us.
Who said I was a queer-lover??? And who are all these people??? Damn it, WHAT'S GOING ON????
Anyhow, Spicoli, Avedon at the Sideshow does a blogaround, too. I did bookmark Daou's new site, but it doesn't seem to update a lot, and, I dunno, it's all new and scary and shit.
I thought Jeff Spicoli learned everything he knows from Mr. Hand?
That Spicoli is an imposter!
And all this crap about not being critical of Obama is a crock. I know you feel strongly about it coyote but once you start down the "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" path it's hard to put on the breaks. Just look at the pukes. It's not really that much different than the argument for things like loosening the FISA laws. "We just need to end the threat and then these measures will not be necessary", they say. "We just need to get him into office and then these measures will not be necessary".
I know you ain't buying but I gotta say what I believe.
I didn't say don't be critical, did I? I was just getting sick of the post after post after post attacking Obama as if he's the only guy in the race. And Turkana wasn't just being critical of Obama, he also made a sweeping generalization that all Obama supporters (I'm more of a Dem supporter, since I'm not super fond of Obama) were glossing over his faults in the comments. You said you don't read the comments at TLC anymore; I have been doing so, to keep out the overt racist/sexist asshole shit as usual, cos I promised Mary, and I'll tell you, a lot of the same unicorn crowd are busting on him in every thread for the FISA vote and not fighting back hard enuff. Even SoS said Hillary would have fought back. That's what pisses me off the most, that I finally manage to get over the hurt and anger only to find that it's open season on the Dem candidate now. Not to mention that it just seems hypocritical to suddenly be concerned about someone "glossing over" Obama's faults, when Hillary supporters glossed over their candidate's faults in the primary. I should know, I was one of them. I guess I'm just always a step behind the rest, 'cos I never seem to know when the rules change to fit the new way of thinking, and I'm always blundering along a couple foot-in-keyboard steps behind.
Gotta stop drinking, I suppose.
And I'm wondering if, by keeping the FISA/wiretapping program going, Obama will find out what was really going on, rather than Bush wrapping it up and taking the whole apparatus with him when he leaves. Of course, the 'pukes won't want Obama to have that power, so they'll have to explain what the power is while they petition to have it stopped. I wanna find out what they did.

The Emperor:[to the Senate] In order to ensure our security and continuing stability, the Republic will be reorganized into the first Galactic Empire, for a safe and secure society which I assure you will last for ten thousand years.
Maybe those Star Wars prequels weren't so bad after all. The Emperor was only supposed to have supreme command until it was not longer necessary. But that definition is very flexible.

Or just stop thinking for yourself.
That's one thing I've learned observing TLC over the past year. There's definitely an ever-shifting way you're supposed to think.
If it didn't bother you, you wouldn't care. And then I'd be worried about you.
So the Constitution isn't all that important afterall? Not as long as you can get the bad guys?
Did I say that? No. I said that I would like to know what's going on. If Obama gets in, the 'pukes will scream bloody murder that he'll do the same thing Bush did with the power, and they'll change the law yet again. But maybe we'll find out what was being done in the process.
Yes, I know that the corps are not doing that shit for country, they're doing it for pukes, and they'll keep doing it for themselves. It was just a thought, and obviously a stupid one.
As for the constant criticism of Obama; to me, it's like you got McCain over in one corner raping babies, and the crowd is so busy throwing shit at Obama for not stopping the baby-raping, they forget to attack the baby raper for his actions.
But fine, obviously it's more important to hold Obama to account than anything else, and I'm stupid for trying to point out the baby raping. I get it.
I'll shut up now, since I'm not in the mood for another "let's grind coyote into the dirt for funsies" day. I walked away from the last one crying, and I hate crying.
This will give you a bit of a clue as to the intellectual capacity of the serious Bible-thumpin' wingnut.
From Tim LaHaye, author of the apocolyptic "Left Behind" novel series regarding whether Barack Obama is the anti-Christ or not;
"I can see by the language he uses why people think he could be the antichrist," adds LaHaye, "but from my reading of scripture, he doesn't meet the criteria. There is no indication in the Bible that the antichrist will be an American."

I forgot digby's place, too.
Holy crap! You're all over the place!!
I like www.iwatchstuff.com for movie news. And I post on moviemake-out sometimes.

I subscribed to EW for years, but now it's so far behind the news I get online, it's not even worth it.
AICN is a mess. I never go there. Check out I Watch Stuff and Coming Soon for that kinda stuff.
To find out what's happening on the blogs, go to memeorandum.com. Peter Daou taught me that.

Hang on. No one said that. Not even close to that.
Is it you being oppressed now?
Help! Help! and all that.

Ummm, ok.
That is the best fookin' quote I've seen in years. Hunter S. Thompson would use that for an intro to an article or chapter of a book. That's amazing.
And if we made you cry, Coyote, then I am so sorry, no more debating for me.
My fault for posting while depressed.
