Game Time!!

Same rules. Gimme character (or actor) and movie.

#1. Ok, I'll meet you at the place near the thing where we went that time.

#2. And one more thing - about the letter. Nuke it. Flame it. Destroy it. - It hurts me to know it's out there. Later.

#3. Good people, bad people, they generally look like what they are.

#4. I broke up with someone recently: Jennifer, my last girlfriend. I did it in a crowded restaurant. She just stared at me with that look: How can you pass me up? I told her we weren't right and all the stuff we both knew. A week later I realized I was wrong, tried to get back together with her. She won't see me. Now she's with Tony. Tony knows my friend Bailey, who's friends with the girl Tony's going out with on the side, Rita. Rita who I broke up with to go out with Jennifer. So now do I tell Jennifer that I know Tony's going out with Rita or do I tell Rita that I know about Tony and Jennifer? Tony will tell Jennifer that I was still going out with Rita while I was going out with her. How does stuff get so complicated? I don't know.

#5. Some people say forgive and forget. Nah, I don't know. I say forget about forgiving and just accept. And... get the hell out of town.

#6. I, uh, notice you don't have any tattoos. I think that's a wise choice. I don't think Jackie Onassis would've gone as far if she'd have had an anchor on her arm.

#7. But I tried, didn't I? Goddamnit, at least I did that.

#8. There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

#9. She's 17. I'm 42 and she's 17. I'm older than her father, can you believe that? I'm dating a girl, wherein, I can beat up her father.

#10. To eat good food is to be close to God.

I think #2 is John Cusak in High Fidelity. I just know I know 6 & 8! I'm gonna think on them a bit. But I'm not ready to give up!

number one is Broadcast News. Love it!

A friend spilled that #2 is Cusak but in Say Anything, which I've seen only once, and didn't think was all that special - I think it was a generation removed from me... Loved High Fidelity, tho. He also spilled the last one, but I won't give it away yet. I keep thinking Austin Powers for the Dutch one, and for #9, is that the Steve Martin flick... with Sarah Jessica Parker as a bouncy young thing.... LA Story?? Arghhh!

Those all sound like romantic comedies, I don't watch those very much!

I'm gonna need final answers before the reveal.

Jeff is correct on #1 -- Broadcast News
Your friend (cheater) is correct on #2 (Say Anything).

7 more. C'mon, dig!! You know these.

Ok, home now, just got back from Amy's.

Coyote, you don't like Say Anything? OMG. Lloyd Dobler's like, a personal hero.

I sense a Cameron Crowe theme, because 4 is Singles.

7, McMurphy, Cuckoo's Nest. LOVE IT!!

9, Manhattan, duh, LOVE IT!

That's all I got.

Oh, I thought it was vaguely amusing, but I really don't like romantic movies, and though I know that one resonated with a lot of men (whoda thunk?) I thought High Fidelity was much better. I think it's generational, too - I'm of the Breakfast Club era. Yep, I'm OLD! Cuckoo's nest, gosh. I haven't seen that but once, years ago. Another amusing one that didn't resonate with me... and I really dislike Woody Allen, except for Sleepers. I'm not one for the talkies, really unless I'm in the mood. As for Singles, I knew I recognized that patter! I just saw it again a few weeks ago, too. It's funny, I've been to those places, and watched it several times back in the day because of the music - I did the whole grunge thing, of course. Saw all those bands locally, Soundgarden, yummy!

We're the same age, Coyote! I'm 39 saw Breakfast Club in h.s.! Say Anything was brilliant, as was most everything Cameron Crowe touches.

I love you guys. I'm drunk, hate my wife and my life. Love my kids. Damn them! I'd be so dead right now.

Wow, you wouldn't believe the cool stuff I just wrote that got lost in the posting. I couldn't replicate it if my life depended on it.

Fancy-pants wannabe writer is gonna pass out somewhere now.
