I had to start 7th grade in a new school, new kid, new town. It sucked. It took a year before I had a friend. I took a lot of shit from a lot of people, but I stood up for myself.
Here's what I should've done.
If I had a kid, I'd tell him to do this on his first day of school. Would that make me a bad parent?
Ignore the annoying foreign subtitles.

Forget first day of school, just do it cos it's fun!
Hey I don't have YouTube at work so I'm gonna change the subject. MV shoulda told me y'all were blogging last night I was texting my cuz back n forth it was fun hilarity. I wish I were here, though, MV!!
Anyway, McCain is gonna name Sarah Palin, the Gov. of Alaska as vp. A big donor of his flew her out to Dayton already this morning. She's pretty awesome, I kind of have a crush. She's about my age, 44, threw out that idiot crooked Republican Gov. up there who built the bridge to nowhere, became Gov. in 06. All I know about her really is she's a real social conservative: no abortion, no gay marriage, pro-gun.....but she's kinda hot, I think, in the way you meet a really pretty lady at a party who's really smart, well-read, funny, but you don't agree with her on anything. Kinda like Steph, MV.
I love the pick, and she's gonna make Biden look like a cranky old man during a debate.
MV, off at noon!
UPDATE: just got a text, it's a done deal!
You mean he ripped off Obama's text thing? What a dick. And it always blows me away how you guys don't care about who a person is as long as she's pokable. Animals!
It will take a bit of the edge off of what Biden can do, that's for sure. But she's seriouslt tied to the fossil fuels industry, will have nothing to say about foreign policy and maybe he can get her to hang herself on some social issues. She does have a Down Syndrome baby that she could have aborted but chose not to. The fundies will love that but their already not in Obama's column anyway and an anti-abortion VP isn't necessarily gonna motivate them to flock to the polls I don't think.
Coyote!! No, I have a CNN service on my phone in case something blows up, they give me the breaking news.
And c'mon, I'm not a complete animal, she and I can disagree politically and still have a friendly, passionate affair! There's not many who agree with my politics, anyway, since I'm a Marxist/Socialist.
Snark, good thinkin', I haven't really got into analysis yet, I'm just so impressed with the pick!
My cuz says Hillary's grinning right now.
Songbird picked a woman? The governor of Alaska?? WTF??
I have no idea what anybody's thinking anymore, and I don't really wanna get inside their heads, so... okay.
A Marxist/Socialist. Oy vey.
Who's this "mentally incompetent" guy over at TLC? Sorry, but I hate to see the left start in with the....and I hate to say it...sexist crap right out of the gate.
Snark, good thinkin', I haven't really got into analysis yet, I'm just so impressed with the pick!
Jesus, Jeff she has already abused her power going after her brother in law, then the guy who wouldn't fire the brother in law.
Plus a couple of other things going on.
She is a looker however.
Mentally Incompetant = Philly Buster = Al Tzeimer's = Raymond in Hell = Josie = Warisa Diane
Sorry, but I hate to see the left start in with the....and I hate to say it...sexist crap right out of the gate.
Hilarious, considering the first thing out of everyone's keyboard is that she's pretty and they'd poke her.
Holy fucking schizoid Batman!
Hilarious, considering the first thing out of everyone's keyboard is that she's pretty and they'd poke her.
Hey, hormones are hormones. I don't put someone, seeing a picture of someone they don't know anything about, saying they'd "poke her" in the same category as someone saying "she looks like a ditz".
And I didn't say anything about how she looked. ;)
SoS, she goes after corruption and just destroys people! Her approval ratings in Alaska are 90%! Plus, she's a "hockey mom"! Have we ever had a hockey fan in the White House? I seriously doubt it, unless JFK, being from the Boston area, played some, but I thought he was a football/rugby guy.
I love hockey! I'm feeling kinda GOP right now, someone snap me outta this!!
What's TLC saying? Did anyone post it? Do I have to?
My co worker just came in and told me that's what they were all saying on the forums he's on. And Jeff already said it.
Plus, she's a "hockey mom"!
Maybe she can take over cookie recipe duties from the first lady? Cindy McCain doesn't look much into baking to me. Actually, Hot Pockets. Hot Pockets are more of a "hockey mom" kinda thing, no?
[rolls eyes]
Snap out of it!
Well, this oughta be easy. As we've seen from the primary, sexism is fine and dandy with most of America anyhow, left or right.
SoS, she goes after corruption and just destroys people!
Yeah, well I draw the line when she wants to refuse the brother in law rights to see his kids!
"Turdblossom" will be so happy!
Jeff, look up Troopergate, she's under active investigation right now, and apparently, she was soft on Ted Stevens, who's under indictment.
What'd you think of The Messiah's speech last night?
I thought he was great. It was obvious what he was/is trying to do, which is get people to believe in America again. (It's not America that's the problem, it's the POS humans living in it, but whatev). He got some good hits in. I think if regular, low information voters managed to watch it, they'll respond to the message.
I went to see what the shakers were saying this morning, and wasn't surprised to see that many of them, who hate him, admitted that this was the first time they heard him speak. Talk about your low-info voter.
Thank you everyone, I'm feeling much more clear-headed. I was just so angry when Obama dissed Hillary by not putting her on the ticket (they would've won by double-digits) I was vulnerable for the evil cretins on the right to tempt me.....I'm better now, thank you all.
coyote, what was I ahead of your people on?
MV, Obama's speech will be written about in the history books. It was Top Five I've seen, as far as featured Convention speeches. Jesse in 84, Jesse in 88, Cuomo, and then Obama last night. Don't know who my fifth would be, maybe Quayle.
Anyone know what Sarah's husband does? What time this thing is happening today? I have the afternoon off so I don't wanna miss it mowing the lawn.
Have I told you today I love you, Coyote? Wanted to make sure you knew.
Maher starts tonight! Yea!!
I must say, one reason why I get so pissed about comments like "I'd do her" about a nasty, hateful person just cos she's hot - it reinforces, for me, how difficult it is for an older than 30 woman to actually find a man interested in more than a boinking. It makes women like me feel invisible and worthless, because it suggests men only care about what's on the outside and won't bother with the inside if the packaging isn't tasty.
Yeah, I joke around here, but every time someone says "I'd do her," about Coulter or Malkin, or any of the other black hearted women out there, it's another nail in my and every other woman's premature coffin. And I hear it all the time. Just an FYI, in case you didn't know the effect of those words. Another FYI, a lot of the time, those manniquins are just as stiff and plastic and cold in bed as they look on tv.
And that's another reason why I was afraid McCain would do this, because most of the time, that whole dynamic is going on subliminally, left or right, young or old. I'm not as hopeful as I was yesterday, that's for sure.
Anyhow, Jeff, you must have some mighty strong beer goggles on, 'cos that pic at TLC isn't of a very pretty woman.
Coyote, Coyote!! I've never valued a woman for her looks over what she's all about, ask MV, I've always had relationships with friends, ALWAYS. I was just having a little fun, my sarcasm/attempts at humorous cynicism often fall flat, I'm just not that good of a writer, I guess. I was joking and trying to be all ironical 'cause it's a pretty sexist thing McCain has done here.
What you say is totally true and unfortunate. If I ever scratch my way out of the pen I'm in I'd be much more likely to date or go home with a woman who made me laugh or engaged me in some good conversation than some Jessica Alba-type. Those girls are mostly snakes, Man.
I'm sorry if I bummed you out in any way, Coyote.
I'll try and check in here as often as possible over the weekend, mine's about to start here.
Don't worry about it, Jeff, I'm still sick and cranky, so it hit me wrong today, though I've seen it a lot on the 'net. And there are a lot of gorgeous women who are also gorgeous on the inside. Human nature is what it is. But it's a conversation my friends and I have had a lot, especially since every single one of us has been divorced over a younger woman. 'Course it was a good thing for every single one of us as well. And not all men are like that, and I'm not interested in finding another man, I like my independence as do my friends. If anything, it just shows how much disrespect McCain and the 'pukes have for women, though no one is going to get that point.
I've always an "essence" man, myself. We all look at eye candy, but it's a larger than life personality that I find attractive, and more often than not it's in a meat suit that society wouldn't deem "attractive."
and I'm not interested in finding another man, I like my independence as do my friends
Why buy the pig when you just want some sausage? 8)
Why buy the pig when you just want some sausage? 8)
There ya go. You have to feed and clean up after the pig, when the sausage is ready-to-eat!
WOW!
Those fuckers over at No Quarter have really gone insane. I had no idea it was so bad. What fucking nutcases. Really sad. And I met Larry Johnson at YK2 in Chicago. Chatted with him. Seemed really cool. Fuckin' shit.
MV, Obama's speech will be written about in the history books. It was Top Five
Meh. It's not hard to wax poetic on abstracts like "The American Promise". As such, I've been more moved by Jed Bartlett speeches on "The West Wing".
"History is made by those who show up", "We are Americans, and we reach for the stars", etc.
Anyway, yeah, I'll prolly vote for Obama. Nobody I really like is anywhere near the job.
And if he can deliver the magical mystical magestical things he promised last night, okay. I'll take that trip to see how it ends.
Besides, it's fuck-all better than the alternative.
...the sausage is ready-to-eat!
I'm partial to Hot Pockets myself. Easy to handle and all warm and moist on the inside.
As such, I've been more moved by Jed Bartlett speeches on "The West Wing".
Me too. Sorry, it takes a bit more than a handy turn of the phrase to get me all excited about someone who actually might affect my future and the future of my kids.
'Course, if it's available, I prefer keilbasa to breakfast links...
You know, I don't think I've ever seen one ep of West Wing. I wasn't interested in politics before 2000. I was at the ballpark, chowing on Hot Links and beer. (not in that order, btw)
And I went to No Quarter only once during the primary. Gak, what a cesspool. I was never a real fan of Larry even during the Plame thing, either. Something seemed not right. Sometimes he'd say things about her that I wasn't sure she would have wanted him to say.
There ya go. You have to feed and clean up after the pig, when the sausage is ready-to-eat!
I think that's where women's heads are at these days. Like me, they're pretty tired of the archetype of the suburban soccer mom, all exhausted and overwrought cuz her kids are monsters, shuffling down the dairy aisle in her track pants. Husband's a good-for-nothing doofus, etc.
For a while there we went through a trend where people had "Starter Marriages". Like a starter home, it lasts 2-5 years and then they split, with or without kids.
But Starter Marriages became so common that now women seem to be thinking, "Why bother?"
It's not that they're more career-driven like in the 80's. They just don't buy into the nuclear family bullshit anymore.
The youth of this country excites me. They're not particularly bright and their attention span is for shit, but they're throwing out the models of the past and creating some new social dynamics.
Now if we could just get the government out of our bedrooms and kitchens and art forms, we could free these people up and find ourselves in for a new Renaissance.
A young president would help that.
And those Shaker girls! OY! Melissa got her panties all in a knot over someone commenting about Palin's husband being in the oil business! WTF! Turn the sensitivity knob down a notch or twenty. Since when are the spouses of candidates for presidnet and vice president irrelavant to their motivation for office?
I don't know, MV, I still see a lot of young women planning their weddings even before they have a guy. But I believe a lot more are waiting a bit longer than in my generation, who got married out of high school or soon after. And the entertainment industry is still stuck on women searching for hubby and baby. Lookit how they've made Jolie, Alba, etc. saints with their new little ones, and how they're constantly searching for "bumps" on young actresses. Even Sex and the City centered on a wedding.
I saw that, snark. She's turned into a parody of a feminist at this point.
Coyote, I didn't say nothing about doinking her. Just that she was a looker... at her age, somewhat attractive, nothing more.
I'm feeling a little ill about all this sausage talk... I ate 2 kraut dogs yesterday and it didn't sit well later in the night.
I tried to embed a you tube video about the Palin investigation at L&L but it was becoming a pain. DU has it.
...and how they're constantly searching for "bumps" on young actresses.
Especially O'Lielly with his infatuation of Miley Cyrus.
Yes, No Quarter has totally flipped the fuck out!
I saw a great video at FDL with the camera guy chasing O'reily asking if he had a loofah! He's one creepy guy. 'Course they all are.
I ate 2 kraut dogs yesterday and it didn't sit well later in the night.
Didn't know you swing both ways, SoS! *smirk* I try to avoid Germans, myself. Authoritarians, mostly.
Didn't know you swing both ways, SoS! *smirk* I try to avoid Germans, myself. Authoritarians, mostly.
Yeah, I was really disappointed, fuckers didn't even tip me.
Did you see tyj's comment! Shit, she is really gonna piss me off!
I hate to go down this road but there might be something to this rumor that Palin didn't have the baby but that she was covering for her underage unmarrried daughter. I've read several accounts of people being total taken by surprise when she announced she was 7 months pregnant. Like, "Wow, she didn't look pregnant at all" kinda surprised. And then she shortly after gives birth prematurely. Although the Down Syndrome thing fits with an over 40 pregnancy. I didn't easily come across any photos that show her obviously showing although she does look a little fuller in the face in some shots.
It is a bit weird.
But really, Coyote, I'm an alright guy, this is bothering me. Or maybe I'm just too stoned. Or both.
I gotta check out No Quarter. Actually, I wish I had that song right about now, but I don't think I do. That's not on the first album, is it? Anyone a Zephead?
Wow, that would be a stunner!
Coyote, the fact that neither you nor Jeff has ever watched The West Wing fills me with dismay. I wasn't a political junkie at the time either. I was just hooked on the fast-paced high drama, and of course Aaron Sorkin is a master of dialog.
The show gives you the inner workings of an administration you wish we had in real life. Where it's not all about money and secret favors among the elite. And you will both find role models somewhere among the characters.
I just recently bought the whole series and watched all 7 seasons over the course of 4 or 5 months. I could start it all over again right now.
I know people have reasons for not watching things they are recommended. Everybody's telling me to watch "Dexter", but I hated "Six Feet Under" so much that I just can't look at that actor.
But for me, both of you, rent season 1 disc 1 of The West Wing sometime and watch the first couple of episodes. The show was made by and for people like you.
Jeff, It's on "Houses of the Holy".
Where is everyone gtting info on this pregnancy thing?
I gotta check out No Quarter. Actually, I wish I had that song right about now, but I don't think I do. That's not on the first album, is it? Anyone a Zephead?
"Houses of the Holy". And yeah, everytime somebody mentioned No Quarter in this thread, I immediately thought of the Zep cover band.
MV, I didn't think I would like it but Dexter is awesome!
Just a well made show. That's what I like.
She announced she was seven months pregnant in March of 2008. Went into labor prematurely while at the annual governors convention in Texas just over a month later in April of 2008. Got on a plane and flew back to Alaska to deliver the baby! When's the last time you heard of a woman in premature labor getting on a plane for a several hour flight? I also read an account by a reporter who spoke to her in the green room of some show before Palin made an appearance. The following day the reporter got a call from one of Palin's staffer who told her that Palin was several months pregnant but that they had yet to announce it. The reporters reaction? Wow, I had no idea she was pregnant.
It's definitly a bit odd.
The baby probably wasn't born in AK... maybe Kenya... and I'm sure it has a fake birth certificate...
MV, then why the hell didn't you bring me THOSE discs when I asked you to give me some viewing material. Force it on me. I'll watch the fookin' thing.
And I don't remember No Quarter, I remember Clockwork Orange at EIU, though, we'd schroom to those guys all the time.
Oh, and the discussion over at No Quarter? I won't set foot in another blog this whole weekend. That's just stupidness. Jesus.
MV, I'm showing the kids this video right when they get home from school. Hilarious. A Good Dad would show this to his kids.
Jeff, sweetie, darling, don't sweat it. Normally, I wouldn't say anything, but being sick and cranky let it come out. It was just an FYI, that certain *ahem* older women might find it insulting. I'm sure you're not a bad guy, as evidenced by your worry.
Once, I was out with my older sister, who's a bleached blond, and more social than I. She started chatting up these guys in a bar. I joined in, talking with them about sports, computers, fast cars, etc. She simpered and tossed her blonde hair and every question she asked was about what they thought, what they felt about such and such - she totally subsumed her personality (which is very domineering, while mine is buddy buddy). Keep in mind, I'm the younger one, and back then, was skinny, tanned and brunette. Guess who the guys asked back to their room?
I like the live version of No Quarter better. And Dexter was interesting, I watched the first 3 eps, but it was clear it would become a bad-guy-of-the-week slaughterfest. And I totally despised how he treated his "girlfriend." Didn't like it at all.
And I totally despised how he treated his "girlfriend." Didn't like it at all.
Ummm...he's a total sociopath. Ya know. No emotions whatsoever.
Well, duh. But it's not fun to watch from my side. It totally creeped me out. Plus, the whole idea of trying to make a sociopath a sympathetic character wasn't entertaining to me. Yes, that's life. Which is why I'm not overly fond of humans.
For me, it felt like they were making her out to be a dumbass, and him the romantic one for trying. Yes, it's supposed to be disturbing, but I watch movies to be entertained, not reminded of real life.
MV, then why the hell didn't you bring me THOSE discs when I asked you to give me some viewing material.
Because it's sacred library material. It doesn't leave the house.
A Good Dad would show this to his kids.
See, that's what I think too! Let's face it, Jr. High and High School are fuckin' TOUGH. Not unlike prison. And like Sean Connery said about prison in "Family Business" (can't find the exact quote but I'll paraphrase)
"Find the toughest sonuvabitch in the place and kick his ass."
Or as they said in "Office Space":
"On your first day, kick somebody's ass or become somebody's bitch."
Instead, I internalized, blocked out the world, and lived in lonely misery for years.
When I should've sucker punched the future prom king on day one.
"I'm Shane. Don't fuck with me."
Genius.
Exactly. I sat in a corner reading a book. I was outcast cos I was always the new girl - my mom would generally use up a town and move every two years - and I was dreadfully shy.
Oh, I almost forgot, one demo that I still attract, and never had trouble getting propositions from: married men. Of course, I got more propositions when I was married, but they still hit on me. Funny.
Because it's sacred library material. It doesn't leave the house.
Like that guy's memory in Dreamcatcher?
Yes, it's supposed to be disturbing, but I watch movies to be entertained, not reminded of real life.
I liked it because it seemed well made... and quirky shit... I like quirky stories... even if they are about sociopaths.
I usually like quirky stories, too. And I loved Six Feet Under, and the actor. I really tried to like it. It was well done, too, but not my cuppa, though I like sociopaths as well. As long as they're smeared all over the highway at the end. See, I'm into fantasy rather than reality!
I get my male TV role models from Hank Moody in "Californication" or Tommy Gavin in "Rescue Me" or Jesse Stone in the Tom Selleck TV movies.
I don't wanna like a serial killer. I'm a hero guy. I was never the guy who rooted for Darth Vader.
A Good Dad would show this to his kids.
I did... it still doesn't help him now.
Not after he got his chops busted already.
They have absolutely no tolerance for fucking around in school these days. He was just messing with the other kid and he gets cold cocked. And the counselor doesn't want both sides of the story, she only wanted it stopped.
Then she says if this happens in 8th grade he will automatically serve out of school suspension for 3 days.
Some shit if you ask me, he gets a black eye and 3 stitches (on his freaking birthday) and they won't listen to his side of the story. I'm sure they worry about some kids coming back with guns and other shit.
It was certainly different in my day. In fact, we were given boxing gloves in those days.
My all time fave role models from tv were Miss Parker from The Pretender and Dana Whitaker from Sports Night. Ball busters in stilettos.
Yeah, SoS, and from what I've seen 8th grade is when boys are asserting their macho identities - every guy I've talked to says it was the worst. My son hated it, because he always thought the macho posturing was stupid. He got a lot of shit for it. He's a zen guy still.
Sixty Nine!
In fact, we were given boxing gloves in those days.
As it should be again. You wanna fight? Fine. Get in the ring and fight.
If I had a kid I'd have him/her in kung fu classes early on. Self-confidence, self-defense.
I know a guy who's kid (a kung fu kid) was getting smacked in the back of the head on the school bus. Bullied. So he waited for the next smack, took the bully's hand and gave it a twist. Nothing breaks, but it HURTS. Bully screams, sits back down, problem solved.
Coyote, you know "Sports Night" was an Aaron Sorkin show too, right? Right before he created "The West Wing".
MV seventied it!
Yeah, I knew about that. Still one of the best shows on tv. I have that one on disc.
And my son has a blue belt in a specialized form of Taikwondo which I keep forgetting the name of. He can break boards with a look.
You own "Sports Night" on disc, but have never seen...
(head explodes)
He can break boards with a look.
That's badass.
Damn straight. I have a pic of him in front of Stonehenge, but it's gigantic, and I'm not sure I want to post it - He's such a cool dude. Wouldn't hurt a fly, either. One of the only 2 good things (my daughter's the other) I've ever done in my life, but it's enuff for me!
And I found SN much later when it was rerun on Comedy Central. I was so bummed it ended.
Did you watch "Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip"?
Aaron Sorkin, the only guy who buys weed and shrooms BEFORE getting on the plane to Vegas.
Aaron. Bud. Get the shit IN Vegas.
My kid is really small and skinny, but then he's younger than most still. I keep telling him I didn't start growing until the 9th grade, which he hates to hear. Since he's in 7th now, next year he should be on track to be exactly where I was in 8th grade, 5' 2". but by the time 10th grade started I was 5'10", then finally topped out at 5' 11 1/2" by my senior season. Hey he's had karate, got to blue belt... now he's into music, playing in the school band, the trombone of all things. It's bigger than him!
Studio 60, I don't think so.
Poor Tristan, I really feel for him, SoS. School's already a prison these days, without having to be the little one. And the smart one. I'm so glad my kids are out of it now. It was hell trying to get them through, but not nearly as bad as it is now.
Since he's in 7th now, next year he should be on track to be exactly where I was in 8th grade, 5' 2".
I shot up a few inches between 7th and 8th grade, which helped cuz I was overweight. The sudden height made me skinnier.
I need that to happen again. 8) If I shot up to 6'6" (with the afro 6'11"), I'd look pretty good.
Sadly No fixes the internet.
'Fro??
Sweet Captain America picture. 8)
'Fro isn't exactly accurate. It's really just a pile of dreadlocks.
Oh yeah, I was portly 130 lbs at 5' 2", so when I got tall I only gained about 20 lbs. I was 5' 10", 155 lbs. Then topped out at 175, I give my left nut to see 175 again... afraid it ain't gonna happen not at 220 now.
I'm fat, I'm 50, and I can't get no booty. Anyone ever heard of John Fox... fucking funny dude.
Got to get on that treadmill or bicycle!
Dreads? What? You don't own a comb?
Really, you should read the Sadly No comments, they're always hilarious, but especially so today.
Dreads? What? You don't own a comb?
Comb wouldn't help. On this comment, you'll see a recent picture of me. The Vigilante Unmasked.
I'm taking it down now. That was your one peek. Back into hiding.
You're Ziggy Marley? How cool!
8) Nah, that's not Ziggy. Dat be Damian "Junior Gong" Marley. Bob's youngest.
Check this out. When Ziggy hands the song over to "Junior Gong", watch the white people get scared. (hee hee!)
I knew I recognized him! What a great song, too. Reggae's such fun to be stoned and dance to. We used to have a great band here, I forget the name, that we'd go see every time they played, usually in grange halls and the like. Always fun. Better than a rave.
We went to an all-inclusive Sandals in Whitehouse, Jamaica last December. Pool bars, great food, Red Stripe, mixed drinks everywhere...
...plus I scored a couple spliffs off a bartender...
The place left an impact on me. I know I was only seeing the inside of a secure resort, but we were on the road enough to get a feel for how the people live, the horrible poverty everywhere.
I started researching Rastafari, listening to the music, finding more and more music. I never travel far without a little Jr. Gong.
Maybe it's just that I love the green so much and there I was in the home of it (aside from Amsterdam).
I can say the mountain really does appear blue, thus the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Weirdest thing. Couldn't explain it.
Sounds like a blast - though I'd be so paranoid about the green, I'm always the one to get busted. I spent a month in Australia, what fun. Traveled the whole east coast by train. The party train, dagnabbit! I'd live there in a minit, if I could.
I'm always the one to get busted
Never say stuff like that about yourself. That's monkey mind talk.
I was completely terrified, of course. I didn't wanna see the inside of a Jamaican cell.
But I knew that if I did it, if I actually pulled it off and got to smoke a real Jamaican spliff IN Jamaica, I knew it would be something I'd never forget. That I'd get to have the authentic Jamaican experience.
That's all life is, anyway. A collection of moments, some of which combine into "memorable experiences", but most of which pass by unnoticed "while you're busy making other plans." Just moments.
Like this one.
And this one.
There goes another one.
And eventually you run out of moments and die. So you never, NEVER, pass up a chance to have a memorable experience. Especially if there's risk involved. The more risk, the more memorable.
C'MON, LET'S GET THIS BITCH UP TO 100!!! DONUTS ON ME!!!
I know I said this before, but this time it's true. I'm doing a MAJOR overhaul of the site. I downloaded a free template and it's slick. I'm gonna spend the whole weekend on it. Plus a new comic to launch it.
Pumped.
All right! I'm there, dude!
But I knew that if I did it, if I actually pulled it off and got to smoke a real Jamaican spliff IN Jamaica, I knew it would be something I'd never forget.
Crap... if I had a hit that would be it! I'm such a lightweight when it comes to smoke now.
Wow, how weird, Bob Marley just came on my "Windows Media Player". "Buffalo Soldier"
WTF, lets get this party started!!
A little "Sweet Joline" by "Wayne Toups & his Zydecajun" followed. What a rocking 'accordion' song. Don't laugh!
I gotta say MV, I love your comics. I was checking them out with my son... he goes, "How cool!"
Woooohoooo!
One of my grad school buddies was in town. We hit about five of our old hangouts. He's from Iceland. A Viking! What a trip. He called me at about 2 and we've been partying since then. Good thing Mrs. Snark likes him!
God damn this fucking word verification shit!
OK, 100 MF's, see ya!!
Woo Hoo!! And his friend out to party!
Shit, I was just leaving a note at L&L!
God damn this fucking word verification shit!
There's a cure for that, you know. Hard to do when you're drunk, eh?
Sucks.
A little "Sweet Joline" by "Wayne Toups & his Zydecajun" followed. What a rocking 'accordion' song. Don't laugh!
Love it. I saw Buckwheat Zydeco in concert a couple times. I love that music! I always thought the accordion would be a sweet instrument to play.
Not much better than a rocking accordion song.
I gotta say MV, I love your comics. I was checking them out with my son... he goes, "How cool!"
Many thanks to you, sir!! I love to hear it! I wish I could be one of those artists who does what he does for himself, but I gotta admit I love an audience.
That made my day, sir! Thanks again.
One of my grad school buddies was in town. We hit about five of our old hangouts. He's from Iceland. A Viking! What a trip.
That sounds like a good time. Can't say I've ever met a Viking. Did he hoist a hefty flagon of mead? 8)
Don't expect snark to respond anytime soon... I bet he has a doozy of a hangover!
No hangovers here. I'm pretty blessed that way. Very rarely have any ill affects from drinking. Was up at 8:30 working on the house.
Shit if that was me... I'd still be asleep... with meds of course.
